Honjo Ushimatsu is a player of the traditional Japanese flute shakuhachi.
He graduated from Tokyo University of the Arts and completed his master's course. While honing his performance skills and studied japanese musicology.
One day, he was inspired by the rhythm and sound of the "ENKA" channel in an retro rhythm box "Roland CR-78 Compurhythm" produced in 1978, and began working on this piece.
He seeks the originality of the tone of the Compurhythm, which was once made by a Japanese engineer, and finds the indigenous Japanese ethnicity in the rhythm of "ENKA" = DONCA-MATIC!, pursuing the deep groove of Japanese folk music.
